Let your day tell the rest.
Caltrace logs your meal in seconds, then places it inside your day: how long you slept, when you last ate, how the day went. No judgement, just context.

One meal, on its own, says very little.
Caltrace places every record on your day’s ribbon: last night’s sleep, the hours between meals, the day’s movement. Scroll, and let the day run.

- Snap it: Salmon salad, about 672 kcal. Is the portion right?
- Type it: Egg toast and a tea — Logged: 412 kcal, 08:16.
- Scan it: Strawberry yogurt, the packaged one — Found it from the barcode: 213 kcal.
- Hold it: What happened before this meal? — 4h 25m after breakfast. 6h 18m of sleep the night before.
- Look back: Why am I always eating late? — I can’t tell you why. But on 3 of 6 recorded days, the last meal was after 21:00.
- Fix it: Actually it was half a portion — Fixed: 367 kcal. The context updated too.

What are you curious about?
Sample answers. Real observations appear only once there are enough records — and only from yours.
If something repeats, your records will say so.
Caltrace doesn’t guess. It shows no pattern until there are enough records — and when it does, it opens the days it came from.

Good questions
Something else? hello@caltrace.app
Is Caltrace a diet app?
No. It shows your goal and logged total, but its real job is keeping your meals together with their context. No meal plans, scores or streaks.
What does Context show?
The sleep before a meal, that day’s movement, and the gap to the previous and next recorded meal. These are observations; they don’t explain why you ate.
How does it find patterns?
It looks at your records and their times. Without enough records it shows nothing; when it does show a pattern, it tells you which days it came from.
How accurate are photo estimates?
A photo gives a fast first estimate. You can correct the food, portion and values before saving.
Is it free?
It’s free to download and start. A premium subscription unlocks more; it’s billed through the App Store and can be cancelled anytime.
Do I need Apple Health?
No. Without permission, Context works from your meal records alone; you can turn access on or off at any time.
So, what will you
log first?
Breakfast, lunch, a snack or dinner. Whichever it is, your diary starts there.
